Britishers ruled India through the company named East India Company. The company made country very barren in terms of the economy. However, some positive notions were induced in India like the modern English education, rail, and telephone. But moreover it, whites looted the richness of the country and left it injured in 1947. During this entire time lot of the Indians have devoted their lives for the freedom of the nation in respective of religion, caste and creed.
It was the solid leadership of the Independent India that connected fragmented India. The political acumen leadership laid the foundation the base of a strong nation by enacting constitution and adopting Parliamentary form of democracy in the country. During that time many Europeans scholars and leaders made laughs and fun of India as they believe that the Parliamentary form of democracy will not grow in the country. Because Europeans understood that the people of Independent India are not equipped for this Parliamentary form of Democracy. Nevertheless, it was the spirit of leadership and the support of the citizens that the first general election for in 1952 was completed successfully. Later the citizens showed enormous support for this system. No doubt, mistakes also has been committed in the past because of human nature. The leaders of independent India also made significant contribution construction of the Nation.
The Designed Plan of Victimization of Politics
In present, past nation building leaders are targeted for many upshots. In present discourse of political arena, it is very common to curse previous leadership for the present weaknesses and credit themselves for good things. It is an irony of contemporary political discourse. Because of this discourse, the public especially youths are held in the cloud of inertia about the shining activities of the past leaders. Nowadays it has become the trend to mask the lemons of the Government instead of reform themselves. They criticize the past leaders on this and also charge some of the communities. Freshly we witnessed the episode of New-lands that an Australian fellow killed 40 Muslims while they were praying. After the inquiry, it was found that he was the victim of this discourse that we are aching in terms of unemployment because of the immigration and presence of visible Muslim Community. This type of thought gives the fatal outcomes in the country that are recognized for its peace.
The governments are not able to take the reforms according to the aspirations of the native citizens in the areas of education, employment, health. Governments do not say anything about their failure. But, governments use the popular discourses that we suffer or worse because of past or due to some distinct population. The reason behind this discussion to side-track the consciousness of the people from the required cause. In this way these political guys try to portrait that in the present we are the victim because of the past actions of the leaders. The most negative implication of these notions is as it creates hate among the people of the different communities and sometimes it triggers the communal violence.
Emotional Politics
It has become common in South Asia to use the sentiments of the people for retaining power. Every country has some concerns related to the emotions of the people and no Government wanted to solve these matters because they know it is our political agenda to remain in power. T.V channels were instead asking questions to the Government, they also sang the song in favour of the Government and organise shows on these sensational matters. In Jammu and Kashmir where the regional and National parties use such type of weapons. The Kashmir centric political parties during the elections campaign talk about the revocation of some anti-human laws, separatism, and show sympathy towards the families who have lost their relatives in the ongoing conflict. As they know that by these emotional concerns, they will get the vote and come in power. Being in power they all do the same activities for which these political parties are known in Kashmir. The Jammu centric political parties highlight the emotions of the people of Jammu like revocation of article 370, 35A, Hindu unity. By constitution, India is a welfare state. Its constitutional obligation of government to take measures for the wellbeing of the people and protect their interests. But no one talks about the educational, employment and health that is a real need of the people. By planting and playing the emotional politics, people are deceived on the name of religion, caste colour, and community. And because of this; they seize the neurons of the rationality of the masses to distract their neurons from the actual and essential concerns. In the entire process, some media houses operate as catalysts to quicken this political weapon among the masses and create it easy for the politicians to unblock their pathways for power. In this away the real issues that are of public interest are ignored before the open eye of people
Being the citizens of the country, we have some constitutionally assigned duty through the 51 A of Indian Constitution. It is our responsibility to be aware and to filter these discourses very prudently before coming in social fabric net of nation. That would be helpful to maintain peace and harmony in neighbourhood, locality, community, and nation. It will be ultimately imprinted in development because it’s difficult to catalyze development without peace and harmony.
